Gameplay Overview
World Zones:
- Safe Zone (Novice Zone)
- A large station with infrastructure designed for novice players.
- Features include a friendly environment, no damage, basic resources, and no player structures.
- No Loot Zone
- Provides more resources and allows only public player structures.
- No heavy/ship weapons and no loot.
- Monitored Zone
- Offers all resources and permits player structures.
- Features PvP and loot, with all harmful activities tracked, marking attackers as outlaws.
- Hostile players/groups and their ships are visible on the map, with security NPCs present.
- Outer Zone
- Contains all resources and player structures.
- Allows unlimited PvP with full loot.
- Player Station/Clan Zone
- Similar to the Monitored Zone but allows owners to specify friendly/hostile designations.
- Friendly players receive tracking information about nearby ships/players.
Game Loop:
- Resource Harvesting
- Activities include asteroid mining and fog recycling.
- Resources can be sold on the market or at player station shops.
- Station/Ship Designing & Crafting
- Players can design and craft stations and ships, sell ships and blueprints, and rent station infrastructure.
- Long Range Exploration
- Players can sell resource location coordinates and offer various mapping services.
- Hauling/Protection Services
- Piracy
- Clan Wars, Territory Control, and Politics
Space Traveling and Movement:
- Ship Movement
- Ships can move at a maximum speed of 150 m/s.
- Warp Portals
- Ships can jump through warp portals using a special device to reach pre-marked points.
- Warp portals require different resources based on ship mass and distance and are visible to other players.
- Player Travel
- Players can travel on ships or use stationary teleportation devices.
- Object Dynamics
- No gravity exists, and objects experience drag, losing initial velocity and stopping over time.
- Orientation
- Without gravity, there is no up or down; players can walk on any surface regardless of orientation.
Stations:
- Station Creation
- Players can create stations, maintaining a certain distance from other stations.
- Access Control
- Station owners can limit access to closed rooms and infrastructure.
- Defense Systems
- Owners can set up stationary guns to attack unfriendly robots or ships.
- Infrastructure Leasing
- Owners can lease station infrastructure (storage, parking, refuel, shops, etc.) to others.
- Space Scanners
- Stations provide scan data for surrounding space, displaying all ships on the scanner and allowing alert setups for unfriendly ships.
- Scanner extenders can be built to expand the scanning area.
- Resource Requirements
- Stations require resources for operation and maintaining safe areas.
Robots:
- Inventory and Customization
- Robots have inventory and body slots for armor and décor.
- Body Parts
- Robots can change body parts for special abilities.
- Death Mechanics
- Upon death, the robot's head detaches and can move freely. The player has two options:
- Teleport to a selected resurrection location.
- Reattach Head to a stored robo-body, which can be kept on a ship or station.
- Robo-head and Robo-body
- The robo-head detaches from the body upon death and is invulnerable.
- Other robots can capture the robo-head but cannot store it in inventory. It can be locked in a closed room or bolted to a ship deck, necessitating teleportation to a resurrection point.
Ship Design & Blueprints:
- Ship Building
- Players can build ships entirely in space.
- Blueprints
- Ship blueprints are saved to the player database and can be printed at the station shipyard with the necessary resources.
- Captured Ships
- Captured ships can be repaired to their blueprint state but cannot be copied.
- Blueprint Sales
- Ship creators can sell or gift blueprints, with the option to limit the number of uses (e.g., a fighter blueprint with 10 authorized copies).
- Ship Core Device
- The ship blueprint is stored in a special ship device (ship core). The ship owner can destroy the ship core item, turning the ship into garbage if the core is destroyed.
